David William Ford's Obituary
David William Ford, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 23, 2024, in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Born on November 29, 1941, in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, David was the son of John and Lola Ford.
On April 2, 1988, David married Beverly in Hot Springs, Arkansas. With a twinkle in his eye and a sharp sense of humor, he made sure their wedding date didn’t land on April Fool’s Day. Known for his jokes, kind heart, and love for animals, David was always ready to lend a hand or lift a spirit. Standing at 6 foot 5, he was an athlete and an avid sports fan, passionately cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, OU Sooners, and OKC Thunder. His natural coaching talent shone brightly as he guided his baseball teams to three league championships.
David loved the outdoors, spending many days hunting, fishing, and appreciating nature’s peace. He was also a gifted handyman who could fix or build nearly anything—and if it couldn’t be fixed, he’d find a way to make it work. His love of horseracing led him to own a racing horse named Lemons and Limes, and the newlyweds even celebrated by heading to the racetrack right after their wedding.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Beverly; his children, Brent and wife Jonna, Coby, Lynn and husband Dwayne, Debbie and husband Brad, Butch and wife Erica; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his son Neil Michels, and his siblings.
David's memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy of laughter, kindness, and resilience will live on in the lives of all who knew him.
