David Otto Hunsperger's Obituary
Mr. David Otto Hunsperger, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend has passed away on March 25, 2025. Born on December 16, 1942, in Fort Edward, New York, to Otto and Frances Hunsperger, David spent his life bringing joy, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
David is remembered fondly as a real kidder, his humor brightening the lives of all who knew him. His family shared that any tale told by David might require confirmation from his loving wife, Carole—a testament to his playful spirit. He was a hardworking dairy farmer, a route salesman, and a special needs bus driver for BA. In every job he undertook, he exemplified dedication and perseverance. Known for his strong work ethic, he embraced the virtues of hard work and gave his best in every role he filled.
An avid sports fan, David cheered passionately for his favorite teams: the Brooklyn Dodgers, the LA Dodgers, the Detroit Lions, OU Sooners, and the Broken Arrow Tigers. He never let the ups and downs of the scoreboard dim his enthusiasm and love for the games.
David cherished traveling and meeting new people, offering a Lifesaver mint or candy with his signature smile, only to hold it tight and laugh as he playfully teased his companions. He was universally adored—never knowing an enemy and never meeting a stranger, thanks to his gift for conversation and connection.
Family was always David's highest priority. His children and grandchildren fondly remember his unique traditions, like lifting the little ones onto the fridge, personalizing greeting cards with quirky drawings (lovingly labeled by Carole), and sharing sweet treats from his Hostess truck—whether "stales" for his kids or a quick snack for a friendly cop.
Known affectionately as "Pop" or "Dad," David embodied warmth, generosity, and boundless humor. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, reunifying with his parents Otto and Frances in peaceful rest.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Carole Hunsperger; his son David Scott Hunsperger (Bekka), (his favorite daughter) Kelli Hunsperger, his son Kevin Hunsperger (Heather), and his son Eric Hunsperger (Carol); his grandchildren: Dominique, Joscelyn, Dani, Christina, Morgan, Ava, Chase, Carter, Ayden, and Cale; his siblings: Marilyn Wicks (Sam) and Jeffrey Hunsperger (Donna); and his neices and nephews and many cherished friends and relatives.
David Otto Hunsperger leaves this world having filled it with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. May his smile and kindness live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever celebrated.
