David Martin Paxton's Obituary
David M. Paxton, born January 18, 1944, died peacefully at home April 2, 2010, of inoperable lung cancer. He finally shut his tired eyes and went home to be with God. During Dave’s lifetime, he served in the Army for three years and had lots of memories and stories to tell. Dave enjoyed life to the fullest which included a racing career in his younger years. The last several years Dave had been ill, he always had a smile on his face, a joke for anyone that would listen and was optimistic about everything. We will all miss his contagious laughter. Dave’s greatest passion was his grandchildren with whom he spent as much time as possible. Dave enjoyed spending time at the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges where he worked out, visited with old friends and made numerous new friends. He also helped coach the children’s basketball team at the center where all the kids loved him. Dave had many friends including his classmates from the 1962 graduating class of Butler High School in Butler, MO. He kept in touch with those classmates till the end, by attending almost every reunion and talking to them on the phone regularly. Dave was loved by so many and will be sorely missed by all that knew him. The family would like to extend special thanks to the hospice nurses, Sydney and Stephanie for their excellent care of Dave and for the very special comfort they offered to his wife, Debbie.
