David H. Reber's Obituary
David Harold Reber passed peacefully surrounded by family on October 13, 2018.He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Wellington Reber and Florence Viola Keller Reber and stepmother Esther Marie Reber as well as sisters Nancy May Albright and Susan Jane Baublitz.Dave is survived by his wife Shirley Naomi Lankford Reber of Glenpool, Oklahoma, son David Harold Reber, junior and wife Patty of Enid Oklahoma, daughter Bonnie Lynn Reber Herd of Glenpool, Oklahoma, and grandson Jess Wesley Herd, junior of Tulsa Oklahoma as well as many dearly loved nieces and nephews.Dave was born in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania on September 6, 1934. After graduating from Towson High School in 1953, in Baltimore Maryland, Dave joined the Army National Guard. He married Shirley in 1954 and shortly began working for Citgo Petroleum. After 40 years with Citgo, he retired to enjoy life on the farm in Mounds, Oklahoma with family and multiple animals before rejoining the work force with Sutherlands Lumber until 2017.Dave was a longtime member of the Mounds Methodist Church and enjoyed quiet time in the mornings in prayer. He also enjoyed gardening, following the weather, multiple pets, drives in the countryside, and ice cream but cherished time with family more than anything. Other interests include following the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, Tulsa Golden Hurricane Football, Oklahoma Sooners Football, and his grandson’s ice hockey teams.Dave was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
