David Sanders' Obituary
David Sanders, born September 20, 1939, passed from this life on August 2, 2018. Mr. Sanders was a widow, proceeded in death by, Gloria Sanders.He is survived by son, Randy Sanders of Washington state, a daughter, Eileen Seefluth, and another daughter, Kimberly Sanders, both of Owasso, Oklahoma. He is also survived by numerous sisters and a brother in the Mississippi and Alabama areas as well as another brother in Wichita, Kansas. He also leaves behind several cousins peppered throughout the Southern United States, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Dave was in the Navy, stationed in Coronado, California. His MOS in the Navy was cooking and he made it a life-long skill cooking southern dishes for his family. Also based in Long Beach, California where he married and started his family in the early 60s, transitioning to McDonnell Douglas as an aircraft painter. In the early 2000s, he retired from Boeing Aircraft.Some of Dave’s favorite things were sports, coffee, reading the newspaper, and gardening. He never missed reading the paper and a couple of cups a coffee each day. Folgers was his favorite drink; straight black.When he wasn’t drinking liquid mud, he coached Little League Baseball and football in his earlier years and continued keeping up with sports until his passing. One of his favorite teams was the Dallas Cowboys. He was also a big supporter of education; one of his favorite schools was Holland Hall, he had always said “boy, they have that school set up perfectly, they don’t mess around.”Last, Dave was a perfectionist gardener, he didn’t miss a beat when it came to growing crops like tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, zucchini, and other veggies or beautiful plants. He had a sharp eye for beauty and a talent for prospering anything he touched, a gift from God.Family will have a private memorial for Mr. Sanders in his home state of Mississippi on August 18, 2018. In lieu of flowers, funds may be sent to www.womenempowermentsolutions.org, a non- profit which empowers women from domestic abuse. Dave is missed and loved by many. Long live Dave Sanders spirit in Jesus Christ.
