David Leslie Vanscoy's Obituary
David Leslie Vanscoy, age 72, a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life Wednesday, January 22, 2025 in Tulsa. David was born August 30, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to David Ray and Doris Jean (Griffith) Vanscoy. David married the love of his life, Delbra "Joan" January 23, 1972. They were married 45 years when she passed away October 20, 2017.
David was big on fishing. He taught his two girls, Tammie and Vanessa, how to be great fishers. He bought the girls their first car but told them they had to learn how to change their own tires, oil and keep up the maintenance on their vehicles. He was a self taught mechanic. He loved his sports as well. He didn't care if it was baseball, football, or whatever.
David is survived by his two daughters: Tammie Clark and Vanessa Proffitt and husband John; grandchildren: Ian Legg, Corey Legg and wife Bri, Sandi Legg, Presley Baugess and Penelope Baugess; great-grandchildren: Elijah Legg, Lyric, and Zander; brother: Steve Vanscoy and wife Julie; sisters: Debbi Odom and husband Mark, Karen Teague and husband Mark, and Shari Keim and husband Danny, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: David and Doris Vanscoy; and his beloved wife: Delbra "Joan" Vanscoy.
Visitation will be held 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Celebration of Life service will be held 12:30 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
