Dean Howland's Obituary
Dean A. Howland, 80, of Tulsa, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2016. Dean was born to Chester and Hazel Howland of Sharon Springs, Kansas in 1936. He graduated from Wichita High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 through 1961. He married the love of his life, Joan Haas, in June 1965. He founded Howland Contractors in Tulsa which specialized in home remodels and additions. The business thrived from 1974 through 1988. He grew up in the days of making do and could fix anything. He occasionally reminded his family of the saying he learned in the Army – Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without. He worked hard and took pride in a job well done. Dean had the heart of a servant, always lending a helping hand, a tool or his expertise. He was loved and cherished by his family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by son, Gary Weber of Norman, daughter, Diane Hamilton of Broken Arrow, son David Howland of Houston, Texas, daughter, Debbie Anglin of Oklahoma City, and grandchildren Nathaniel Weber, Danielle Lauderdale, Christin Davidson, Monica Whitten, Mackenzie Hess, Campbell Anglin, Andrew Howland, and Carrie Howland. Funeral service-10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
