Debby Jo Margiotta's Obituary
Debby Jo Sparks Margiotta of Broken Arrow, passed away on January 6, 2023 at the age of 74.
She was born February 15, 1948 to Pasty and Loyd Grimmett of Okmulgee, OK.
Debby graduated from Morris High School in 1966 where she was Salutatorian. She then graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree and Northwestern University where she received a Master’s in Counseling. From there she went on to Oklahoma State University where she received her Administrator’s Certificate.
She worked for Tulsa Public Schools as a teacher, counselor, and administrator until 2000 when she began her career as an administrator for Broken Arrow Public Schools. She retired from there in 2007 and went to Bishop Kelley High School as a counselor, retiring from there in 2014. Since her retirement in education, she has worked for McGraw Realtors as a realtor.
Debby was dedicated to her family and adored her granddaughters, grandson, and great grand sons. She was a member of Asbury Church. Debby had a spirit like no other. Everywhere she went, she brought joy and laughter with her sense of humor. That spirit will be missed by family and friends alike. Treasured memories of her ease the loss.
Debby was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Margiotta of the home, Tyler Sparks and his wife Lindsay of Broken Arrow and Amanda Sanderson and her husband Jason of Tulsa. Six granddaughters and one grandson Marley Sanderson, Reagan Sanderson, Sloane Sanderson, Beckett Sanderson of Tulsa and Madison Roberts, Taylin Sparks, and Timber Sparks of Broken Arrow. Two great grand sons, Camden Roberts and Evander Florence. Her uncle Ted Butler and his wife Claudia also survive her along with other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Debby’s family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Debby’s Life on January 12, 2023 at 1 pm at Asbury Church on 6767 S. Mingo Road in Tulsa.
