Deborah Sue Lincoln's Obituary
LINCOLN – Deborah Sue, 56, passed away on July 13, 2008. Deborah was born to Barbara and Bernard Duren on July 21, 1951, in Moberly, MO. Deborah grew up on her family’s farm in Fayette, MO. She graduated from Fayette High School and attended Central Methodist University where she majored in Theatre. She moved to Tulsa in 1974. She gave birth to her only child, Todd Lincoln, in 1976. Shortly after moving to Tulsa, Deborah went back to her theater roots and became very active in the local community. Deborah was a member of Theater Tulsa for several years and sat on its board of directors. In the mid-80’s, she had the pleasure of being on the board of directors for the American Indian Theater Company. Deborah also had a keen eye for Native American art, her favorite pieces being kachina dolls, and amassed a substantial private collection over the years. As a production manager, Deborah worked on several film projects with The Entertainment Group. In 1985, Deborah became an entrepreneur as co-founder/owner of Double D Licious Cookies located in the Farm Shopping Center. After selling her business, Deborah became a real estate agent for Jane Maxey Realtors. For the past 12 years, she worked for Trase Miller/American Airlines Vacations as a customer care representative. One of Deborah’s greatest passions in life was travel. She would use her vast travel experiences as her verbal tableau for customers. She was a consistent top performer and a million-dollar seller for multiple years. Her professionalism and commitment to outstanding customer service earned her numerous awards including the “Circle Of Excellence” quarterly award. Her personal favorite places to travel were Paris and the Hawaiian islands. Deborah’s other passions were her family and friends. She delighted in telling anyone who would listen about her son Todd’s career as a film director and the latest project he was working on. A perfect evening to her was spending it over dinner with good friends and a great martini. She hated the heat, but loved air conditioning. Deborah was an avid reader. She loved to pick blackberries during the summer and loved to visit Woodward Park, especially during the spring. Deborah was loud, boisterous and always lit up a room. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Deborah is survived by: her son, Todd Lincoln of Los Angeles, CA; her mother, Barbara Duren; her brother, Chris Duren of Fayette, MO; and other beloved extended family. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 3, at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave., Broken Arrow, OK (918)252-2518.
