Debra June Gilton's Obituary
Debra June Gilton, age 74, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed from this life on September 21, 2025. Born on June 5, 1951, in Enterprise, Oregon, Debra was the cherished daughter of Delbert and Jacqueline Dodson. Her journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family.
Debra shared 28 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jon Gilton, until his passing in 1996. Together, they built a life filled with joy and purpose, welcoming three children who became the center of their world. Debra’s love for her family was boundless—she found her greatest happiness in their presence, whether through shared laughter, heartfelt lessons, or simple moments of togetherness. This only grew stronger when she met all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Debra was known as a woman of a radiant spirit and always embraced life with open arms. She had a passion for travel, especially to places where the ocean met the shore. Her love for music, dancing, and celebration brought warmth and energy to every gathering. She was the heartbeat of every party, the smile in every room, and the wisdom behind every gentle nudge toward growth.
Debra’s compassion knew no bounds. Her wisdom was quiet but profound, often delivered through stories, humor, or a knowing glance. She found joy in movement, whether swimming, exercising, or simply walking through life with grace. Her beauty, both inside and out, left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She truly had a beautiful soul.
She will be remembered not only as a devoted mother, wife, and friend, but as a light that continues to shine in the hearts of her loved ones. Her legacy lives on in the laughter she inspired, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jon Gilton; parents Delbert Dodson and Jacqueline Jean (Walker) Dodson; daughter Kimberly June Thomas; brothers Dwight James Dodson, Duane Jack Dodson, and Brad Lee Dodson. Left to cherish Debra's memory are her daughters Tiffany Kay Shanahan and Jennifer Anne Gilton; grandchildren Lauren Thomas, Michael Thomas, Jon Gilton, Seth Marrujo, Tanner King, Trinity Shanahan, Kylie Pendley, and Olivia Shanahan; great grandchildren Harlowe Marrujo, Nicole Gilton, and Lucas King; sister Robin Wadsworth; aunt June Whitten; along with other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
A visitation to come and pay respects to Debra will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 4PM-7PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A rosary service will take place following the visitation from 7PM-8PM. A celebration of Debra’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 12:30PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Debra will be laid to rest with her beloved husband following the service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
