Delbert M. Sluder's Obituary
Delbert M. Sluder passed from this life on January 27, 2011. He was born on August 10, 1909 in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Eli Franklin and Fannie Olivia (Lewis) Sluder. Delbert married Alvis Elverta (Gooch) Sluder in 1928. He worked for Douglas Aircraft as a Quality Control Inspector before retiring in 1970. Delbert was a member of Disney Assembly of God Church where he also taught the adult bible school class. He was preceded in death in 1996 by his loving wife of 68 years, Alvis Sluder; and 10 siblings Delbert is survived by 2 sisters: Fern Clark and Delia Claxton of Coweta; 5 daughters: Wilma Norris and husband Charlie, Lois Johnson, Marion Thomas, Gwen Taylor, Jo Davis and husband Jim; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011, at 3:00 PM in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00 – 5:00 PM with the family receiving visitors from 2:00 – 4:00 at Floral Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to Rivercross Hospice in Tulsa or to a charity of your choice.
