Delbra "Joan" Vanscoy's Obituary
Delbra “Joan” Vanscoy, 63 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away October 20, 2017. Joan was born May 14, 1954 in Alabama. She is survived by her husband, David Vanscoy; daughters, Tammie Dawn Beatrice Clark and Vanessa Raelynn Baugess and her husband Kurt; grandchildren; Ian Grey Legg, Corey Wayne Legg, Sandi Lynn Legg, Presley Lynn Baugess, Penelope Rae Baugess; great-grandson, Elijah Grey Legg; Nieces; Loretta Beatrice Eddy-Holbrook, Tammijo Marie Eddy, Marilynn Bandy, Margie Clem, Martha Joan Melson and numerous other family members and friends. Joan married David Vanscoy on January 23, 1972. Family meant everything to her. She was a true caretaker in every sense of the word. She loved cooking for her family, she would garden “play in the dirt” with the kids when they were younger. She loved watching birds, her favorite was the Cardinal. She loved listening to the rain but didn’t like being cold! Everyone closest to her will remember her for her strong, outspoken southern charm. She had a knack for telling it how it was; and if you didn’t like her opinion, you better not ask; however she was also extremely loving and would do anything for anyone. She welcomed everyone into her home, she gave the “Best” hugs ever. She truly never met a stranger! She would spend hours talking on the phone to her family; and she never let anyone leave or say goodbye without a hug, and a kiss and most important and “I Love You.” She was one of a kind; she never complained and had so much love for her family and friends. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Oklahoma Cancer Specialist and Research Hospital : https://www.ocsri.org/There will be a visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral HomeFuneral Service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
