Delmar Lee Stanfill's Obituary
Delmar Lee Stanfill, a resident of Broken Arrow, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the age of 79. He was born October 21, 1936, to Elijah Stanfill and Hazel Marie (Wilcoxson) Stanfill in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy and on February 14, 1958, he married Margaret A. Vogel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Delmar enjoyed woodworking, gardening, old cars, sports (especially football) and playing with his dog, Duke; but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.Delmar graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tulsa and worked as a sales representative for Bovaird Supply Co. for twenty years.Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Stanfill of the home; two daughters, Diana Day and Husband, Rod of Tulsa; Darlene Thompson and Husband, Jerry, of Broken Arrow; four grandchildren: Patrick Day and wife, Hayley; Ryan Day and wife, Rebecca; Shelby Carper and husband, Pete, and Madeline Day; and his buddy, Duke.Viewing will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and family will greet friends that evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Floral Haven Rose Chapel with Dr. Michael Gabbert officiating.Pallbearers will be Patrick Day, Ryan Day, Pete Carper, Rod Day and Jerry Thompson.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in honor of Delmar to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
