Delois (Dee) Mefford's Obituary
Delois (Dee) Mefford was born to Robert Jackson Shelton and Della Crail Shelton (both deceased) and graduated from Tulsa Central High School. Dee worked as a nurse aide at St John Hospital and as a secretary to the service department of Underwood Typewriter Company in Tulsa until she met and married Howard R. Mefford. They adopted 2 children, a son, Brian Keith Mefford and a daughter, Carla Dee Mefford. Brian died in a tragic accident at 12 years of age on September 25, 1976. Carla has two precious daughters, Holly Henry and Hayle Shoras. Holly has a beautiful and active child, Rozalin Queen Wadkins. Dee and Howard celebrated 60 years of marriage this past April 21, 2018. Both have been long time members of the West Tulsa Free Will Baptist Church. Dee suffered with stomach cancer this past year. She was cared for by St John Hospice during her last days. Dee passed away on June 7, 2018 at 5:05pm and went to join Brian and her Heavenly Father.Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at West Tulsa Freewill Baptist Church.
