I always think of cars when I think of Corky, from way back in his racing days when Jane, Linda and I babysat Becky, Keith and Bobby to later years when Corky fixed my car at the station on Admiral. Always such a sweet man.
My memory goes like this: Back around I believe 1984 I was shooting racing pictures at RUJO. One weekend I decided to take a weekend getaway to the lake to camp and fish with my non racing friends and while at the lake putting my boat in I sunk my truck.Truck ended up being ok after all the fluids and filters were all changed out but when I returned to RUJU the following Fri. night Corky had already heard about my incident. When I saw him instead of hi Buckles it was hey Buckles, I heard you sunk your truck, and the joking and laughing began. Every time I saw him he would bring that subject up and I never got tired of it.I am talking 5 to 6 years down the road he would bring it up. Corky, I wasn't glad about sinking my truck but I was thrilled it gave you and I something to laugh about.
RIP Corky and someday when I see you, I bet you will bring that up again and if you don't I will.

I am so sorry for your loss. Corky was a sweet man who came & cut my foot out of a bicycle wheel because my dad (Buster Bachtell) was in a cast from a wreck on practice day at the Tulsa Speedway.
I also remember coming to spend the night with Becky & getting bucked off her Shetland pony.
I will keep the family in my thoughts & prayers.

So sorry for your loss. My prayers and love for his family. I remember going to the gas station and we would always see Corkey there working on cars. He was always smiling & so friendly.
