Dennis Lee Hendrix's Obituary
Dennis Lee Hendrix, born on October 15, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on July 20, 2024. He was the son of Garvis Cleo and Marie (Taylor) Hendrix. Dennis graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1966 and was an active member of the class of '66-'67 Men’s Breakfast Club. On August 21, 1971, he married Carol Teel at Crowell Heights Baptist Church in Tulsa.
Dennis had a passion for baseball and coached his sons, Brett and Brian. In his younger days, he enjoyed photography. As the owner and President of Construction Associates for over 40 years, Dennis made significant contributions to the industry.
He and Carol traveled extensively, exploring destinations such as Germany, Austria, Rome, Hong Kong, Aruba, Alaska, and Hawaii. Dennis’s unwavering loyalty to Oklahoma State University (OSU) was legendary; he graduated from OSU in 1972 and held season tickets for 50 years. Additionally, he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Carol Hendrix; sons, Brett Hendrix (Christi) and Terry Brian Hendrix; grandchildren, Braden, Camden, and Corbyn Hendrix; sister, Linda Long; nephew, Matthew Hendrix; and his beloved four-legged companion, Peanut. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garvis and Marie Hendrix.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 28th, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. The graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 29th, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Serenity. Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Asbury Church.
