Dennis Edward Millard's Obituary
Dennis Edward Millard, 74, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Born on March 2, 1951, in Carthage, Missouri, Dennis was the son of Ralph and Nellie Millard, and from an early age he carried with him the values of hard work, humility, and kindness that shaped his entire life.
Dennis spent his early school years in a one-room schoolhouse, attending from first through fourth grade before continuing at Jasper Elementary and Jasper High School. His pursuit of education led him to Belleville Illinois College and later Wesleyan University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree.
Among Dennis’s earliest and most distinguished achievements was the attainment of his private pilot’s license, a milestone that reflected both discipline and ambition.
A dedicated professional, Dennis built a long and respected career with American Airlines, HP, and DXE. As a Manager of Disaster Recovery, he worked with colleagues across the globe, known for his steady leadership, deep expertise, and unwavering reliability.
During the Vietnam era, Dennis was drafted into the United States Army, serving honorably as Military Police. His service reflected the same sense of duty and integrity that defined his life.
Over the years, Dennis made homes in Carthage, Missouri; Belleville, Illinois; El Paso, Texas; and ultimately Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where he lived for 41 years. No matter where he was, Dennis was the kind of person who showed up—ready to help, ready to support, ready to make someone’s day a little easier.
He was known for his love of jokes, even if he rarely made it through one without laughing too hard to finish—or getting it just a little bit wrong. His laughter was contagious, and his good-natured humor brought joy to everyone around him.
Dennis married the love of his life, Jeannie, on May 4, 1985. Together they built a family rooted in love, loyalty, and shared memories that will be cherished forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Nellie Millard; his sister, Rosalie Gammill; and his brothers-in-law, Denzel Pennington, Phil Wilbur, and George Baker.
Dennis is survived by his devoted wife, Jeannie Millard; his children, Kevin Millard, Rachel Provin and her husband Jeff, Jonathan Curley and his wife Christy, and Mark Millard and his wife Karlie; and his grandchildren, Dylan Henderson, Karys Henderson, Presley Johnson, Blake Provin and his wife Jewelia, Lauren Provin, Ethan Provin, Evan Provin, Alex Curley, Toni Hopkins, and Dimitra Millard. He is also survived by his sisters Shirley Baker, Treva Wilbur, Joyce Pennington, Kristy Hondros and her husband Nick, and Diane Francetic and her husband Dale, along with many nieces and nephews whom he adored and who adored him in return.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
Dennis will be remembered for his generosity, his laughter, his dedication to family, and the countless ways he made life brighter for those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
