Denton Eugene Davis' Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Denton Eugene Davis on December 22, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Born on August 3, 1949, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to Eugene and Frances (Lynn) Davis. Denny's life was rich with adventure, love, and craftsmanship.
Affectionately known as "Tinker" in his childhood, he had a knack for taking things apart to understand how they worked, Denny carried this curiosity and skill throughout his life. He was a high school quarterback, a lover of the outdoors, and he loved traveling for work where he explored Europe several times. Denny enjoyed motorcycles, ATVs, cars, and planes. His passion for motorcycles took him to several events like Sturgis and on Toy Runs.
Denny was a jack of all trades with an uncanny ability to build anything. He had an engineers mind, tell him what your idea was and he could build it. He loved to share his knowledge and took pride in caring for his family, friends, and neighbors. Denny’s love for planes led him to become a pilot, further showcasing his zest for life and learning
His career was as diverse as his interests: he drove semis, sold and delivered for Snap-On Tools, built Auburn Cars for Auburn Cord Duesenberg, and later worked as an engineer for Flight Safety where he designed and built flight simulators. He was also a dedicated member of the Air National Guard.
Kathy, Denny's sister, fondly recalls how he would eat her strawberry shortcake hidden in the back of the fridge just to tease her, even though he didn’t like strawberrys. This playful spirit was a hallmark of his personality.
Denny is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Davis; his daughter, Mandie Dalton, and her husband Scott; his grandson, Davis Dalton; his sister, Kathy Noltenmeyer; his nephew Dan Noltenmeyer and his Wife Kathleen Noltanmeyer; and one great-niece and three great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Frances Davis.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 29th, at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 30th, at Floral Haven Rose Chapel.
Denton's legacy of love, knowledge, and craftsmanship will be cherished by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Denton Eugene Davis.
