We all went to the creek, we hung out, swam and jumped off the diving rock in honor of you! We did the same 5 years ago for your mom (my sister) and it seems so surreal that you are gone. I hope you know how much you were loved and will be missed!!! RIP Derek York.
feel so wrong for losing contact so many times and holding your struggles against you when that was all the time i had with you. i didnt just lose my dad now but the dad that found a way to come and see me and send or drop off a birthday card when i was just a little girl. ill forever be grateful for all the times i had with you and the memories ill have forever. i love you dad and im glad youre sober and safe now i just hate that its because youre not here. you are so so loved and will be remembered forever. i wore your korn shirt on my first day of senior year and have gotten closer to my sisters now than i ever have and plan to keep it this way.
I miss you so much dad I’ll never forget who taught me how to drive. I wish we had more time together, rest in peace 🕊️
If anyone knows my husband they know of his brothers, the men he has known since childhood and the men he would do anything for, this small group of men, even though they have all moved on in life, they all still love each other more than anything I have ever seen or came across, I have seen this group as 8th graders at Whitney middle school, then saw them through Nathan Hale, to them in their 20s, to all of us now in our 40s, it took me time to write about this but the saying "i have no words" has never been more true. Derek York was a one of a kind, anyone who knew him will say the same! The two of these boys together were a different pair, and there will never be a same! I hate the fact I cant stop the pain, but I will always be here to talk about the memories and to the man he was!!! We love you Derek!
Derek you were and will always be my ACE. You had my back since the 3rd grade even if i didnt think i needed help you offered it up. Words cant describe the loss i have without you now. Love you brother. Rest well! NO MORE PAIN
RIP baby. Although we didn't have long together our connection was amazing. At least we had the 4th of July together & getting to take you to Spavinaw Dam to visit your mom. I love you & won't forget you. Fly high love
When Derek went to San Diego we were able to go and spend time with him. We were far apart in distance but we were also just a phone call away. I will miss you! Aunt Barbara
