Dewayne Howard Higgins' Obituary
Dewayne Howard Higgins passed surrounded by his family on January 29, 2025 at the age of 81. Dewayne was born on October 19,1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Mildred and J.D.
Higgins. He graduated Central High School in 1961. He married the love of his life Lawana Jean Armstrong on August 2nd, 1963.
Dewayne supported his family working in food distribution and sales but he was incredibly dedicated to his family and church. Dewayne spent weekends taking his children and then grandchildren on adventures. He was a volunteer in the church counting offering, helping with projects and teaching Sunday School. He loved fishing, popcorn, puzzles and peanuts. He will be remembered by his kind soul, his passion for his family and his dedication to the church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Lawana Higgins, his sister Eunice Richard)Stiger and his three daughters, Dwana, Gina (Steve) and Kaylyn, his grandchildren Francie (Ryan) Khalaf, Stefan (Ginny) Schluneger, Amanda (Stephen) Young, William (Onia) Schluneger, Rikki Mashburn, Lauren Scrimsher and Troy Scrimsher and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death be his father Joseph Higgins, his mother Mildred Higgins and his brother David Higgins.
