Dewey Lee Dougless, Sr. passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. Born on March 19, 1935, in Tulsa, Dewey was the beloved son of Victor Lee Dougless and Violet Idean Cherry.
Dewey dedicated his career to serving the city of Tulsa as a Street Inspector. He also worked for McDonnell Douglas and at a service station, showcasing his versatility and commitment to hard work. Alongside his wife Jan, Dewey ventured into entrepreneurship, successfully running several businesses, including American Upholstery, American Upholstery Supply, and In Graphic Detail.
Dewey is survived by his devoted wife of 71 wonderful years, Jan Dougless; his sons, Dewey Lee Dougless, Jr., and Paul Dougless and his wife Sharon; his cherished grandchildren, Samantha McClanahan, Bradley Dougless, Dewey Lee Dougless III, Eric Dougless, Chelsea Dougless, and Zachery Dougless; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and his nephew, Scott Santee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Lee Dougless and Violet Idean Cherry.
Dewey's legacy of love, dedication, and hard work will be remembered by all who knew him. At this time, no services are planned.
