Diane Williford Addison's Obituary
Diane Williford Addison, 70, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away on March 2, 2023, after bravely fighting complications from various health problems over the last few years. She was a true champion ‘til the end, and not only is she rejoicing in her now perfect health, but she has reunited with her treasured son, Damion Graham Henderson, whom she tragically lost in 2013. The reunion of those two souls was undoubtedly a moment of pure heavenly bliss.
Diane is survived by her devoted and loving husband of almost 30 years, Jerry Addison – her true love and soul companion; Her daughter and kindred spirit, Tara Afner; Her beloved son-in-law, Vince Afner, and her two adored grandsons, Travis Afner and Evan Afner….all from Broken Arrow. Diane also leaves behind three treasured stepchildren, Brandon Addison, Cory Addison, and Emily Addison, all from Tulsa, and their families. She is survived by many loyal friends and by her older brother, Ronnie Williford of Lubbock, TX, and Kay Thorpe of Midland, TX.
The baby of the family, Diane was born and raised in Odessa, Texas and carried that true ‘West Texas Spirit’ with her throughout her life. This is definitely one of those cases where you can honestly say that ‘to know her is to LOVE her’. She never met a stranger….and her sparkling personality could brighten even the worst of days. She possessed an uncanny ability to ‘look at the bright side’ – and was infamous for adding humor to any situation – inappropriate or not! She genuinely loved people…and would give anything and everything she had to bless those in her life. She was known for her beautiful smile, huge heart, infectious outlook on life, and those crystal ice blue eyes of hers. She exemplified beauty both inside and out.
Diane’s most favorite career was being known as ‘The Movie Lady’, where she traveled in her motorhome (which was transformed to serve as a video store on wheels), all around Oklahoma, Arkansas, and the Missouri Ozarks where she supplied small towns and stores with a wide selection of movie titles that were then rented throughout their local communities. This was an innovative business idea that she loved and excelled at, and she quickly became the favored leader amongst her competitors. She then went on to move to Hollywood with her new husband, Jerry, and son, Damion, and daughter, Tara, where the whole family enjoyed countless laughs, moments, and experiences serving as ‘extras’ in numerous movies, sitcoms, and TV shows. This was to be one of the most treasured times in her life.
Though the last decade of her life presented various health problems, Diane always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say. She absolutely loved to ‘people watch’ and found humor in any and all situations. She shared an especially close relationship to her children, several life-long dear friends, and loved being the devoted wife to her husband Jerry.
To say that her vivacious personality and vibrant spirit will be missed is an enormous understatement. There will never be another woman like her on earth, and she was a lady and a gentle soul to the end.
Her friends and family will miss her terribly. She was an extremely precious, loved, and loving human being who made a remarkable impact on those of us she leaves behind.
The graveside inurnment service will be 3:30 PM, Friday, May 5, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens and there will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Trinity Creek Club House, at 51st and Elm, Broken Arrow, Ok
