Dickie C Wagner's Obituary
Dickie (Dick) Carlton Wagner peacefully passed away on April 11, 2026, at age 88.
He was born to Ray and Ruth Wagner of High Point, NC in 1937. After graduating from High Point High School, he joined the United States Air Force. Four and a half years later, given an honorable discharge, where he was stationed with the 825th Air Division for a Strategic Air Command (SAC) unit at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. After his military service, he went to work at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR where he retired 32 years later at the age of 55. He then found his lifelong passion of golf. In 1983, he met the love of his life, Jean, and married in 1984 in North Little Rock, AR. They moved to Oklahoma in 2009 and celebrated their wedding anniversary in 2025, giving them 43 years of happiness, strength, and most of all love. During his lifetime, Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed extensive traveling with his wife, having reached almost all of the states. He also filled his days on the golf course with Jean and their friends. On Saturdays, you would find him cheering on his #1 team, the Arkansas razorbacks. He was a devoted Christ follower and attended church every week along with Sunday school classes and ministry work.
When you hear his name, there isn't just one single word that comes to mind. He was many things to many people. He was full of life. He was a man who built a foundation of warmth and empathy, preferring kindness and gentleness in all things. He had a smile that lit up the room as well as bringing a smile to those around him. Anyone who met him said he was such a sweet man. His legacy is defined by actions like mentoring, cultivating family traditions, fostering character, and sharing wisdom, ultimately leaving people and places better than he found them. He is passing on to his family a lifetime of memories, virtues, and honor. During his 88 years, he was our angel here on earth.
He now walks beside God as an angel in heaven.
He is preceded in death by his parents ray and Ruth Wagner, sister Mable Wilborn, brother Brownie Wagner, nephew Matt Reid, and granddaughter Amanda.
He is survived by his sister Becky Myers of North Carolina, wife, Jean Wagner of Broken Arrow, OK, son David Scott of Stillwater, OK, son Randy Scott of Brokem Arrow OK, granddaughter Ashley Scott of Tulsa, OK, and great granddaughter Madison Ohman of Oklahoma City, OK, along with five nephews and one niece. Honorary Pallbearers are Ed Kersey, Charlie Bean, Robert Sloan, Collin Cole, Larry Dyer, and David Jones.
His final resting place will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK with a private ceremony of honors with his family.
