Don Morgan Paulson's Obituary
Don M. Paulson Jr. left this world to join his Lord and Savior on November 22, 2020. The positive impact and legacy he left for us could fill countless pages. Don was born August 1, 1969, at Tinker Air Force Base Hospital to Leslie and Don M. Paulson Sr. His early childhood was spent in Washington D.C., Panama City, Florida, Dana/Jefferson Iowa, Wynnewood, and Oklahoma City Oklahoma. At an early age, Don had a love for OU football and was a talented athlete himself. He spent countless hours playing catch and tennis with his Grandmother Weta. He excelled in every sport he played: football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, tennis, track, golf, swimming, and shooting. His cherished childhood memories were visiting his grandmother Eva, father Don, and his family in Iowa and summer/winter vacations with his mother Leslie and stepfather Tom Buxton’s family in Colorado. Don graduated from Putnam City High School in 1987 and graduated from OU Health Sciences Center with a Bachelors's Degree in Nuclear Medicine in 1992. Don and his wife Janna were united in marriage on October 15, 1993, in South Lake Tahoe California. Don and Janna spent many weekends exploring California with friends, skiing, playing co-ed softball, and golfing for almost 10 years. After returning to Oklahoma, Don’s pride and joy Abbey was born in 2003. Don never missed a single swim lesson, dance recital, school play, or football game that his daughter cheered(Dad could be seen in the stands doing the routines himself). Don was known as the IV guy; the guy you called when no one else could start an IV. He was the coworker everyone loved to work with. His career in healthcare spanned over 28 years; 20 of those years he spent working for St.Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. His God-given talents provided countless patients and family members with the care they so richly deserved. Don is preceded in death by grandparents Herbert and Eva Paulson of Iowa, grandfather Merle Hays of Oklahoma, Step grandparents Dr. Merwin T. And Sue Buxton, step-grandfather Henry Thomas of Oklahoma, and mother in law Linda J. Epperson. He is survived by his wife Janna and daughter Abbey Paulson of Broken Arrow, OK, father Don M. Paulson Sr. of Stillwater, OK, mother Leslie and Tom Buxton of Edmond, OK, grandmother Weta Hays Thomas of Arcadia, OK, Aunt Millie Shores, Uncle Jay Buxton and wife Suzie, Uncle Bill Buxton, Uncle Steve Buxton, and wife Laura, Uncle Randy Thomas and wife Trish, Uncle Hank Thomas, Uncle Paul Thomas, and wife Jennifer, Aunt Mary Ryan and husband Mike, Uncle Sam Thomas and wife Tina.; cousins Stephanie Chiles and husband Cody, Carolyn Shores, Max Johnson, Tom Paulson, Darlowe Paulson and wife Debbie, Ken Schilling, Sean, and Shannon Paulson. Father-in-law Leonard Epperson and wife Vickie, sister-in-law Jill Jordan and husband Erik, nephew Brandon Pemberton, niece Baylee Bonnewell and husband Eli, nephew Easton Jordan, and great-nephew Kye. Survivors also include his numerous relatives from the Paulson/Johnson families, Hays/Watkins/Thomas families, and the Epperson family due to Covid restrictions, services are pending until further notice.
