Dona Linn Wagle's Obituary
Dona Linn Wagle
June 28, 1936 – March 24, 2026
Dona Linn Wagle, a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 24, 2026. Born in Cushing, Oklahoma, on June 28, 1936, to Lawrence and Mary Pippenger, Dona was a lifelong Oklahoman. A proud graduate of Cushing High School, she was a vibrant member of the band and a talented baton twirler. A gifted musician and a believer in Jesus, she shared her joy and faith through the piano and organ.
In elementary school, Dona met the love of her life, Richard Wagle. They married on May 27, 1954, beginning a journey of family that spanned over seven decades. Dona was the heart of her home, finding her greatest purpose in serving her family. She was a woman of immense creativity; whether she was tending to her flower beds, reading a James Patterson novel, or crocheting a themed blanket, she found beauty in every moment. Her most cherished legacy is the personalized, handmade felt-beaded Christmas stockings she crafted for every member of her family—a gift of love that will hang on their mantels for generations.
Dona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Wagle, and her parents, Lawrence and Mary Pippenger. She is survived by her children: son Larry Wagle and his wife Roberta of Catoosa; daughter Sherrie Hatheway and her husband Steve of Chouteau; and daughter Tammy Ray of Catoosa. She also leaves behind her brother, David Pippenger and his wife Joann of Maryland, and her niece, Ruth Anne Pippenger of Maryland.
Dona’s legacy continues through her five grandchildren and their families: Chris Wagle and wife Heather of Terlton; Ricky Hatheway and wife Leslie of Pea Ridge, AR; Mat Wagle and wife Nikki of Tulsa; David Payne and wife Rachel of Tulsa; and Danny Hatheway and wife Emily of Hillsborough, NC.
She was the proud great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren: Ian Wagle, Braxton Hatheway, Bella Wagle, Yvaine Hatheway, Haven Wagle, Lily Wagle, McKenzie Wagle, Ava Hatheway, Tessa Wagle, Wren Hatheway, and Myles Payne.
Graveside Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
