Donald Allen Barnett's Obituary
Donald Allen Barnett, age 84, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away on March 8, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Richard Clyde and Hellen (Hancock) Barnett, and lived a life defined by service, humility, and quiet generosity.
On October 26, 1970, Donald married the love of his life, Sandra Marie Dies, on the naval base in San Diego, California. For more than 50 years, they shared a partnership rooted in devotion, loyalty, and the simple joys of everyday life.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy, dedicating 21 years before retiring with honor. His commitment to hard work continued as he went on to serve another 22 years with the United States Postal Service, where he worked as a mechanic. His steady hands and dependable nature made him a trusted colleague and friend.
A private and modest man, Donald never sought attention, yet he was always the first to offer help. He found joy in the small pleasures of life—motorcycle rides on open roads, tinkering and piddling around the house, reading biographies, watching war movies, and lending a hand to others without hesitation. His love for animals was deep and enduring, reflected in his support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the SPCA.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sandra Barnett; his children, Jeff Berry, Janette Berry, Matt Griffin, and Trudy Griffin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Debbie, Suzanne, and Deloris. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him with affection.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Hellen Barnett, and his brother, Richard.
His family invites friends and loved ones to gather in remembrance. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 16th, at Floral Haven. A funeral service will take place at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a committal service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Last Supper.
Donald’s life was one of quiet strength, steadfast devotion, and heartfelt kindness. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
