Donald "Don" Gene Kidd's Obituary
Donald Gene Kidd of Broken Arrow, OK, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather passed into eternity Saturday, November 27, 2021. Don was born October 25, 1939 in Bristow, OK to Mervin and Ruth (MacArthur) Kidd. He was united in marriage with the love of his life, Maxine Duke on November 3, 1961 in Stroud Oklahoma.
Don worked as a roughneck in the oil fields of west Texas, before returning to Oklahoma and becoming a machinist. In 1979 he founded Kidd Machine and Manufacturing. Until his retirement in 2010, Don ran his business with determination, sacrifice, and integrity.
Fishing was one of Don’s greatest enjoyments, surpassed only by spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Don lived life to the fullest, quick with a laugh and always ready for a prank. He never met a stranger. He lived by the motto “always treat people how you want to be treated”. And he treated everyone well. He loved big, with his wife of 55 years, his three daughters, his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. Don will be remembered most for his strength: strength of his character, strength of his compassion and strength of his love.
Don is survived by his daughters: Sandy Mills and husband, Steve Mills of Broken Arrow, Vonda Kidd of Broken Arrow, and Marsha Kidd of Broken Arrow; grandchildren Kendra Agimudie and husband Chris of Western Springs, IL; Derek Mills and wife Lorna of Las Vegas, NV, and Kayla Mills of Mannford, OK; great grandchildren Lucy, Benjamin, Emmy, and Etta Agimudie; brother Bill Kidd and Sherri of Tulsa, and sister Norma Howell of Tulsa; as well as many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Merv and Ruth Kidd, and his wife, Maxine Kidd.
