Donald Hert's Obituary
Donald (Gene) Eugene Hert, 73 years young of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away on May 29, 2022, in the presence of his family.
Gene was married to spouse Linda Hert of 45 years and was a loving father to daughter Michelle Poston, son Phillip Ramsay. Gene was grandfather to Matthew Meeker, Megan Ramsay, Amanda Gordon, Madelyn Ramsay, and Mason Ramsay. He was also a great grandfather to Ryder Gordon, Rylee Gordon, and Tye Gordon.
Gene is preceded in death by father and mother, Bernard and Gladys Hert, sister Joyce Jones, brother David Hert. Survived by sister Charlene Hert Blackburn.
Gene was born on July 6, 1948, to Bernard and Gladys Hert in Pryor, Oklahoma. After Gene graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1966, he went on to study at Oklahoma State University for a period before enlisting in the United States Army and served 2 years active where he was honorably discharged at the rank of SGT with an additional 4 years reserve. Gene was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the 82nd Military Police Company, 82d Airborne Division.
Gene began his career at Mid Continent Casualty in 1977 working his way from claims representative to claims manager and retired in 2018.
A celebration of life will be held on June 03, 2022, at 12:30 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Services will be held in the chapel.
