Donald E. Holcomb's Obituary
Donald Eugene Holcomb, 83 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in a Tulsa Hospital. He was born September 26, 1937 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to his parents, Donald Cissel Holcomb and Ruth Ann Watkins Holcomb. He married the love of his life, Judith Ann Long on February 16, 1963 and they have shared in over 57 wonderful years together.
Donald’s caring nature is evidenced by his service as a retired Tulsa Police Officer, he was an active member of Akdar Shrine Kar Buffs Unit and the United States Air National Guard.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Judy Holcomb of the home; two daughters, Tina Holcomb Blackman and her husband Michael of Disney, Oklahoma and Debi Holcomb-White and her husband Don of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jason Blackman, Chad Blackman, Ethan Blackman and Stephen White; five great-grandchildren, Charles Blackman, Lindsey White, Cory White, Zachary Blackman and Jenna Blackman; one great-great-grandson, Ethan Warfel; a cousin, Marion Walton; a host of cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ruth Holcomb.
Don graduated from Broken Arrow H.S. Class of ‘56 where he played football for the Tigers.
Don enjoyed camping, fishing, dune buggy’s and RVing with family and friends. He loved his trips to Colorado, Little Sahara State Park Lake Keystone and Ft. Gibson Lake. He loved sport’s including football, NASCAR and hunting. He was a master griller in the eyes of his family. His daughters first driving experience was in his dune buggy in the sand at the Arkansas River, no brakes required. He was a football coach and mentor to many. He enjoyed his visits after his retirement with the Breakfast Club and the retired officers luncheons.
He will be missed by many family members and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021 in the Floral Haven Rose Chapel.
