Donald Bruce Hubbard's Obituary
Mr. Donald Bruce Hubbard, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Owasso, Oklahoma. He was born to Mr. Raymond L. Hubbard and Mrs. Evelyn (Kloose) Hubbard on Wednesday, March 10, 1937, in Richmond Hill, New York.
Don served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959 on the USS Kiowa, before embarking on a 40-year career at American Airlines, which he proudly retired from in 1999. He spent most of his days following his passions, local short track racing, the New York Yankees, and the New York Rangers. During that span he became a successful journalist bringing New York and Oklahoma local racing reports to the National stage.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Everett Hubbard, his wife Eleanore and daughter Cheryl. Don is survived by his three sons, Donnie Hubbard and Bobby Hubbard, both of Owasso and Brian Hubbard and wife Kellie of Apopka, Florida; along with 6 amazing grandchildren Chase, Allie, Gracie, Paige, Hannah and Haley.
A visitation and viewing will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
Following the service there will be a reception including BBQ lunch at the Floral Haven Family Center, please try to attend and help us continue Donald's Celebration.
