Donald "Jack" Kennett's Obituary
Donald “Jack ” Kennett was born in Kansas City, Missouri and passed away from this world at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018.Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Blanch Clare Lambeth Morgan, jack Kennett, and Step-Father William Morgan.He survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Betty Medve Kennett, Cousins, Lynn Lambeth of Broken Arrow, OK, Sue Lambeth Zerr of Plano, Texas, Don Lambeth, of Springfield, Missouri, and James Lambeth of Lutz, Florida; many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of close and caring friends.He attended school in Kansas City, Missouri, Jenks & Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Oakland, California. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from May of 1952 to February of 1953.Jack was a Competitive and professional Roller Skater; built, owned and operated two four successful and popular rinks, two in Springfield, Missouri, and two in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. During his years as a Skating Instructor he had several national skating champions. Jack along with his wife, Betty, have lived in the Broken Arrow/Tulsa area for the past 44 years.Along with his love of roller skating was his love for flying which he did for over 35 years. He also owned and trained several Miniature Poodles. Two of these Poodles were Therapy Dogs that he took to St. Francis Hospital twice a month for over 15 years along with visiting a number of nursing homes and senior care facilities.He loved sports and was an avid snow skier and a spent a number of years in Crested Butte and Colorado Springs, CO. Jack also played racquet ball during which time he developed a long time friendship with many of the players. Jack was a loyal Dallas Cowboys Football fan and rarely missed a game whether at the stadium or on TV.The most important things in his life were his wife, family, his love of roller skating and flying and his wonderful K-9 companions.In lieu of flowers please make donations to Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Road, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74133.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 6500 S. 129th East Avenue, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.“There will be a gathering for family and friends immediately following the Memorial Service at The Glass Veranda at Forest Ridge Golf Club, 7501 East Kenosha, Broken Arrow, Ok.It is located approximately 10 miles east of Floral Haven on Kenosha (71st). It is on the right side of Kenosha. You will turn right onto Forest Ridge Blvd., and right into the parking lot. When you are facing the club house The Glass Veranda is the building to the left of the club house.”
