Donald William Landburg's Obituary
Donald William Landburg died at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the age of 83. Donald was born June 15, 1931 to William Reuben and Elsie Selck Landburg at McLean Nebraska. He was raised on a farm in Nebraska and Fergus Falls Minnesota. He graduated from Underwood High School in Underwood Minnesota in 1950. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served in the military from 1950 to 1960. He advanced to Tech Sergeant serving at Barksdale AFB in San Juan Puerto Rico, Ft. Bragg in El Paso Texas, and Eglin AFB in Florida. Donald served in the US Army Reserves for 2 years after retirement from the Air Force.Donald and Janice Shaw Landburg were married January 14, 1957 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. They were married 58 years. He is survived by his wife, Janice, as well as sons Gregory of Ft. Lauderdale Florida, Jeffrey and wife Lisa of Catoosa Oklahoma, David and wife Sandra of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, and Michael and wife Tanya of Huffman Texas. Grandchildren include Andrea and John Oliver, Adam and Kyleigh Landburg, Jennifer and Roger Clark, Jared and Shelby Landburg, Rachel Brown, Kiley Landburg, Jessica and Seth Landburg, Tehren and Camden Landburg, Kyle and Tyler Maple. Great grandchildren are Jayden Wilson, Evie Clark, Braxton and Piper Landburg, Stacy Oliver, Addison Landburg and Brantley McClintock.Donald was a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church, Catoosa Oklahoma, serving as a trustee and Sunday School teacher. He had a life long love of airplanes and worked at Spartan School of Aeronautics as an aircraft instrument instructor until retirement. He was very creative, always drawing designs on anything in his reach. Even after retirement, he constructed two houses with the help of study guides and was in the process of building an electric car at the time of his death.He was proceeded in death by his father and mother of Underwood Minnesota.Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Visitation Room in Broken Arrow, OklahomaA celebration of life ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Rolling Hills in Catoosa, Oklahoma.
