Donald Michael McGuire's Obituary
Don Michael McGuire, age 63, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 after a brief hard battle with cancer. Don was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Annabell Marie Hix Lee, January 27, 1947. He grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Raymond S. McLain High School in 1965. After graduation, Don joined the Army and was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. After the Army, Don attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M for two years, then went to Oklahoma State University to graduate with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he began working for W.C. Norris Corp. in Tulsa. Don married Debra Alice Brown of Broken Arrow on August 7, 1976. Don and Debbie had one son, Joshua MIchael McGuire on December 5, 1981. He had a 32 year career in Tulsa’s aerospace industry beginning with North American Aviation and ending with Spirit Aerospace. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Alice Brown of Broken Arrow; his parents, Annabell and Frank Lee of Tulsa;Debra’s parents, Wayne and Virginia Brown of Broken Arrow and all grandparents. He is survived by one son, Joshua Michael McGuire and fiance, Mary Ann Buckley. Also survived by 3 brothers, John McGuire and wife, Barbara of Cleveland, OK; Ronnie Lee and wife, Pat of Owasso, Rev. Lonny Lee and wife Janette of Cushing, OK;sister Connie Jobe and husband, Ronnie of Kilgore, TX; brother-in-law, Jim Brown and wife, Linda of Broken Arrow and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Don was a creative talented wood worker, stone carver and loved building and exploding fireworks. He loved to travel and experience new places. He was a devoted family man, loving father and brother. He was always there for anyone who needed him. He had a qiuet presence, a fun wittiness and a good influence on those he came in touch with. He was greatly loved and will be missed. Memorials may be made to The How Foundation, Tulsa, OK or the charity of your choice.
