Donald Keith Reid's Obituary
SALLISAW- Mr. Donald Keith Reid, 88, formerly of Kingman, Arizona died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the Claremore Veterans Nursing Facility. Services will be Tuesday, March 1, at 10:00a.m. at Vian United Methodist Church with son, Daniel and daughter, Peggy, hosting a Celebration of Life. Mr. Reid was born on July 16, 1927, at Foreman, AR. Mr. Reid served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a prominent businessman in Checotah, OK, owning Checotah Flowers, Century 21 Office, and H&R Block Tax Office. Mr. Reid obtained his local Pastor’s License from the United Methodist and Wesleyan Churches. He is best known for his “Song Evangelism”, singing praises for the Lord in almost every denomination from Florida to California and 4 concerts in Germany. Donald will be dearly missed by his children: Daniel Lee Reid, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Peggy Ann (Reid) McCarty and husband, Len of Gore, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Joshua Allen Reid, James Andrew Reid, Matthew B. Inda and wife, Irene, Brandi M. Inda, Hunter Reid, and Maddy Reid; and great-grandchildren: Abigail Inda and Harold Inda. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children: Leora Ann (Long) Reid in 1988 and Coraline Clara (Moss) Reid; two sisters: Beryl and Eunice; and two brothers: Dean and Junior Reid. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 29, 2016, Floral Haven Visitation Suites, Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A celebration of life ceremony will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016, Vian United Methodist Church, Vian, Oklahoma. The graveside service, with military honors, will be held 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016, Garden of Gethsemane, Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
