Donna Marie Blotevogel's Obituary
Donna Marie Blotevogel, 87, passed away peacefully in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on March 26, 2026. She was born on February 25, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and lived a life defined by faith, devotion, and love for the people around her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son.
Donna was a true Christian in every sense of the word. Her faith wasn’t just something she spoke about, it was something she lived. She held firmly to her Christian beliefs, carried herself with humility and grace, and treated others with kindness, patience, and compassion. She emulated Ruth from the Bible, a true Godly woman and wife. Her church community was a second family to her, and she found joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others with a gentle, steady heart.
After graduating from Wichita High School, Donna began her career as a secretary for the Kansas Board of Education. When her family later relocated to Tulsa, she continued her professional journey and built a long, dedicated career at Nadel & Gusman Oil, where she was respected for her work ethic, reliability, and grace.
In Tulsa, Donna met the love of her life, Edgar “Ed” Blotevogel. They were married on August 2, 1968, beginning a partnership they both believed God had placed in their lives. Donna and Ed loved each other with a fiery, enduring passion, setting an example for others of what marriage should be — steadfast, tender, and rooted in faith. Those who knew them saw a bond built on loyalty, respect, and a love that never wavered. Donna embraced her role in helping Ed raise his two sons, Eric and Terry, pouring her heart into building a loving and supportive home. Ed preceded her in death on December 30, 2023, after 55 years of marriage.
Donna took great pride in her home, keeping it spotless, warm, and welcoming for anyone who walked through her door. She was also an extraordinary cook, especially during the holidays. Donna always kept her guests’ favorites in mind, preparing tables filled with dishes, desserts, and family traditions made with love. Those gatherings — filled with laughter, warmth, and the familiar comfort of her cooking — are memories her family will cherish forever.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Wilma and Richard Maxwell, brother Harold Maxwell and son Eric Blotevogel. She is survived by her daughter in law Nancy Blotevogel, stepson, Terry Blotevogel, of Tennessee; her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren: Phillip and his wife Corianne, and their children Claralynn and Sam; Christopher and his wife Robin, and their children Kaidence and Olivia; Alicia Craig and her husband Spencer, and their children Wesley and Matthew; Brandi and her husband Sam, and their children Keelan and Tayla; Cory and his wife Bobbie; and Charlie. Each of them carries a piece of her love, her steadiness, and her example forward.
Donna’s life was shaped by kindness, quiet strength, and a gentle spirit that made others feel welcomed and cared for. Her family and friends will forever remember her unwavering faith, her warm presence, and the love she gave so freely.
A service honoring Donna’s life will be held at Floral Haven on Friday April 3, 2026, with visitation beginning at 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Thursday April 2, 2026. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported Donna in her final years.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
