Donna Gail Etchison's Obituary
Donna (Vaughn) Etchison, 72, of Owasso, Oklahoma passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of July 3, 2024.
Donna was born June 24, 1952, in Clarksville, Arkansas to Paul and Juanita (Farris) Vaughn, both who precede her in death. Donna’s best friend in life was her sister, Sharla, who was older than Donna by just 15 months. Sharla passed away unexpectedly in 2007. Donna is survived by her younger brother, John Michael Vaughn.
Donna married Gene Etchison in 1984, and blended their families which included Donna’s daughter, Jami (Craig) Icaza (husband Edward), and Gene’s son, Glenn Etchison (wife Carla), and daughter, Sharon Etchison (husband Michael Bradbury). Five years later, they welcomed their daughter, Julie (partner Edward Murphy).
Donna is survived by her husband, Gene, their four children and their spouses, five grandchildren: Olivia Covington (husband Payton), Sam Etchison, Alex Etchison (partner Autumn Duncan), Xander Icaza, and Kyler Icaza; and two nephews: Lucas Ryan and Christopher Ryan (wife Alex).
As a computer programmer in the banking industry, Donna traveled around the country for various assignments. After retirement, she, Gene, and Julie traveled to all seven continents and more than 30 countries fulfilling one of Donna’s lifelong dreams.
Donna’s true passion was breeding and showing Tibetan Spaniels, for which she was highly regarded. She produced many quality champions, and her Tibbies were well known in the dog show world.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00pm, Friday, August 9th at Owasso First Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Tibetan Spaniel Rescue or to your local animal shelter.
