Donna J (Ireton) Juedes' Obituary
Donna was born on January 25, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Reverend Robert and Ruth (Larson) Ireton. She was born on the birthday of her uncle, Donald Larson, and was named after him. Donna was an active, spunky toddler and got the nickname of Punky, which lasted until she started elementary school. Donna learned to play the flute in elementary school and continued playing the flute in the junior high and high school bands, as well as in the church orchestra at Bethel Assembly of God, where her father was the pastor. She graduated from Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1971 and from Central State University (CSU) in Edmond, Oklahoma, in 1975. During her time at CSU, Donna was active in Chi Alpha, the Assemblies of God organization on campus. She was elected Chi Alpha Queen during her senior year at CSU. After Donna received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, she went on to teach grade school in Nebraska. Donna married Larry Juedes while in Nebraska, and they adopted two children, Rebecca and Joshua. Donna continued to play the flute throughout her life. While in Nebraska, she met another lady who played the flute, and they performed flute duets at several churches. After Donna and Larry divorced, Donna continued to live in Nebraska for several years, and eventually moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She began playing flute in the orchestra at Tulsa First Baptist Church and continued doing that until the Covid pandemic started. Donna attended the Tulsa campus of Oklahoma State University and obtained her Masters of Library Science. She then worked as a librarian for the Tulsa City County Library System for many years until she retired, and then continued to work part-time for that Library System until shortly before her death. She passed away on August 12, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by her children, Rebecca and Joshua Juedes, her siblings, Robert (Glenda) Ireton, Sheryl (Lawrence) Young, David (Lori) Ireton, and many nieces and nephews.
Donna loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, and is now in His presence for eternity.
