Donna Sue Sartin's Obituary
Donna Sue (Kline) Sartin of Collinsville, OK entered eternal rest on December 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Donna was born on October 3, 1949 at St. Mary’s Hospital in McAlester, OK to loving parents Donald Kline, a coal miner, and JoAnn Cowan Kline, an incredible cook and loving mother. She was the eldest sister of three girls, Brenda Gail and Patricia Ann.
In her school days, she attended Haileyville Schools where she filled her days with music, movement and school spirit. She enjoyed being on the drill team, glee club, cheerleading squad, and likely could be found listening to Elvis Presley records. At school is also where she met the love of her life, Dennis Sartin.
On the first day of eighth grade in Haileyville, Donna stepped out of her father’s blue 1959 Chevrolet Impala, unknowingly catching the eye of a young Dennis Sartin. From that moment, Dennis knew she was “the one.” While it may have taken Donna a little longer to be convinced, their love story was just the beginning.
Dennis and Donna were gleefully married on November 4, 1967 at First Christian Church in Haileyville, OK. They welcomed their baby girl, Stacy Jo, on May 17, 1968. She was a joy to their life. Three years later on February 3, 1971, they were blessed with their son, Mark Wayne, and their little family was then complete. Being a mother was Donna’s most satisfying achievement and family was of the utmost importance to her.
Throughout their marriage, Donna and Dennis moved several times for Dennis’s career with Public Service of Oklahoma. Their journey took them to Elk City in 1982, Owasso in 1983, and eventually to Ohio in 2000, where they braved three snowy winters before happily returning to Oklahoma and the people they loved most.
In 2003, they settled back home on 13 beautiful acres in Claremore, a place filled with laughter, adventure, and countless memories. It was there that their grandchildren grew up fishing, exploring nature, and riding ATVs—sometimes a little faster than Nana and Papa preferred.
One of the greatest joys of Donna’s life was her grandchildren. She loved being a Nana, and embraced the role with boundless love and enthusiasm. Nana to five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Donna took spoiling seriously—especially at Christmastime. Watching their faces light up as they opened presents was one of her favorite traditions and greatest delights.
Donna had a natural gift for nurturing all living things. She had a green thumb and maintained a flourishing garden wherever she lived. She created warm, welcoming homes filled with love, laughter, and the cherished company of many well-loved dogs.
Her compassion extended far beyond her own family. Donna devoted her time to volunteering at the women’s shelter in Claremore and, alongside Dennis, established a scholarship at their alma mater, Haileyville High School, to help graduating seniors pursue higher education. As lifelong animal lovers, Donna and Dennis were also proud, long-time supporters of WildHeart Ranch, a nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation organization.
Donna lived her faith through action. She loved deeply, did not pass judgement, and showed up for others with empathy and grace. Her love for Jesus was evident in the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Donna was an extraordinary daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, and grandmother, and her legacy of love will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dennis Sartin, of Collinsville, Oklahoma; her children, Stacy Edwards and her husband, Steven, of Wichita, Kansas, and Mark Sartin and his wife, Barbara, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Averi Edwards, Tripp Cagle, and Tegan Cagle, of Wichita, Kansas; Hannah and Mariun Price, Kyran Price, and Karsen Price, of Memphis, Tennessee; Sage Edwards, of Oklahoma City; Elijah Sartin, Londyn Sartin, Daxton Sartin; Grace Sartin, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Jack Sizemore, of Heavner, Oklahoma.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home on January 16, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a gathering from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Donna’s memory to WildHeart Ranch, honoring her lifelong love for animals.
