Donny William Butts' Obituary
Donny William Butts, born to Dessie and Mabel Butts on August 12, 1933. He passed away on February 12, 2015. Don was predeceased in death by his wife, Anita Butts and his brother Lyle Butts. He is survived by his children, Michael and Donnita Butts, his granddaughter, Abby Butts, his brothers, Leon and Winford Butts, and his sister, Shirley Kay. Also surviving are several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Don retired as an Assistant Principal from the Tulsa Public Schools in 1986. He became bored with his life of retirement and eventually went back to work. Once his granddaughter arrived in August 2002, he retired a second time and took on the new job of grandpa. He loved spending time with his family, as well as watching his favorite baseball team, St. Louis Cardinals. He would plan to be at home as often as possible so he could cheer his Cardinals to victory. He also enjoyed rooting for his OU Sooners. He never missed watching a game or listening to the game on the radio. If he could not find a Cardinals or Sooners game, he would watch the Western channel. He loved his church family and attended services every week. He spent each morning in devotion to God, reading his Bible and praying.Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, February 15th, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 16th, Broken Arrow Church of Christ with the committal service to follow at 12:00 PM, Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow.
