Dorene Murphy's Obituary
Murphy, Dorene, 90, of Tulsa went to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, July 14, 2017 at her home. She was born in Centrahoma, OK. on February 22, 1927 to Joe and Cora Williams. She attended High School in Allen, OK. and was very proud of her accomplishments of “straight A’s and women’s basketball star”. One of five children she is survived by her brother Jessell Williams. She married the love of her life in1945 and shared 68 years of marriage and she longed for the day God would bring them together again after his passing in 2014. A true love story that will stand the test of time. She had two daughters Meladee Still and Sandra Edwards and her husband John. Dorene was a credit manager for Renbergs department Store in downtown Tulsa and loved to have her family dressed in the finest even though they were from such humble beginnings. Her greatest love was her family and while her cooking was amazing and her details impeccable her love for Jesus Christ was the gift she wanted most for us all. She and her husband were members of Easton Heights Baptist Church and that life’s work will remain apart of her legacy. Her life of faith, love and family will be forever carried by grandchildren; Sarisa Orange, Walter Still and wife Barbara, Brandi Nicole Farley and John “Scoop” Edwards Jr. and wife Jacque; great grandchildren; Sam Orange, Geoff Orange, Lauren Still, Luke Still, Caleb Edwards, Devin Edwards, Jacoby Edwards, Ja’Niyah Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Murphy; Two sisters and one brother, her parents and a grandchild. Dorene was known for being scared of storms and always ran to the cellar for refuge and when the storms of life and health came she knew where to go! “Well Done my good and faithful servant.” Jesus calms all storms. A celebration of her life will be held at Floral Haven in the Funeral home chapel at 12:30 PM, Wednesday July 19, 2017.
