Doris Bailey's Obituary
Doris Ruth Bailey, September 26, 1931 to May 17, 2019. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Ruth and Berthold Anderson, Doris married Wayne Ellis Bailey on January 3, 1954. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Nebraska and a registered nursing degree from Immanuel College of Nursing at Omaha, Nebraska. In 1954, Wayne was sent to Korea and Doris was later able to join him in Fukaoka, Japan as a Department of the Army Civilian RN at the 8162nd US Army hospital where they lived for six months, hence her love of travel. They moved back to the States and during her 43 year career as a RN, she had two children, Elaine (Mrs. Kevin Langel) of Omaha and Wayne A. Bailey of Tulsa. Doris and Wayne have six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.A special thanks to the staffs at St. Johns ICU and the Broken Arrow Nursing Home and to the many friends at Silver Arrow Estates who prayed for her. A Celebration of Life will be at Silver Arrow Estates, 2601 South Elm Place, Broken Arrow, on May 26th at 2:00 PM. Memorials in lieu of flowers to The Nature Conservancy.
