In Loving Memory of Doris Jean Dunbar
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Jean (Johnson) Dunbar, born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on December 26, 1933, and departed this world from Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 21, 2023. Doris, a beloved and cherished woman who touched the lives of so many will be forever missed. She will always be remembered for her strong character as well as the dedication and love she had for her family.
Doris attended school in Pawhuska and later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma with her son, Jerry Corbin. She worked at Bank of Oklahoma as a key operator for many years before retiring. While living in Tulsa, she met and married Bill Dunbar on September 12, 1959. Doris was an immensely talented pianist and organist, often playing in many local churches. Her faith in her Lord and Savior was always strong and never faltered. She will be missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, her sister, husband Bill, son Jerry, and her stepson Rodney. She is survived by her grandson Rondey Dunbar and wife Lisa. She is also survived by her nephew, Danny Johnson.
A graveside service to honor the life of Doris will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, in the Garden of Everlasting Life, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Pastor James Lacey officiating.
Anyone wishing to send flowers may do so by ordering through our website or by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any other florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Doris's graveside service.
