Doris Jean Fields' Obituary
Doris Jean McCondichie was born May 2, 1939 in Tulsa, OK. She was the fourth of five children born to Arthur J. McCondichie and Eldoris E. McCondichie.Doris was educated in Tulsa Public Schools attending Dunbar Elementary, Carver Junior High and was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1957. Doris made many friends beginning in elementary school and the friendships continued until her passing.Doris was baptized at an early age at First Baptist Church North Tulsa by the late Dr. Calvin K. Stalnacker, Pastor. As a member of the youth department, she sang in the choir and was an usher. As an adult, Doris was active in the Woman’s Mission where she worked diligently as a member of the Jobie Holderness Circle. Additionally, she served as co-chair of the Diabetic Ministry. Doris proudly became a “Trailblazer” upon reaching 50 years of church membership.Doris married Otho Robert Fields on January 26th 1967 in Modesto, CA. They parented five children; three girls and two boys. As the wife of an officer in the United States Army, Doris enjoyed many years of traveling throughout the United States and Europe. Doris loved life and had an energetic and magnetic personality. She was actively involved with her family and friends. With a natural talent for decorating and crafting, she especially enjoyed the challenge of designing the décor in every residence she lived. Despite illness in later years, Doris maintained a vivacious spirit and enjoyed reminiscing about her life experiences.On February 12, 2017, Doris Jean Fields transitioned from her earthly home to her eternal home. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Otho Fields, father, Arthur J. McCondichie, mother, Eldoris E. McCondichie, sister, Regina McCondichie, and brothers, Elbor E. McCondichie and Herbert A. McCondichie.She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Cherri’ Fields-Lewis (Michelle Richardson) of Houston, TX; April (Duane) Fields Stokes of Jenks, OK; Chalonda Fields of Tulsa, OK; two sons, Ronald (Tresondria) Fields of Houston, TX; Andre’ (Rosalie) Fields of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Richard (Carolyn) McCondichie, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and a gathering of family and friends.
