Doris R. "Roline" Wise's Obituary
Roline passed away peacefully at the age of 96 in her home in Tulsa on December 4, 2016 after an enriched and meaningful life full of love and laughter. A proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother; she savored chocolate, coffee, flowers, resale shops, her many cats and dogs over the years, and going on long drives. Her devoted and loving husband, Roy Wise preceded her on December 26, 2004, after 59 years of beautiful marriage.Roline’s surviving family includes daughters Renea Hudson and Diane Wise, of Tulsa, daughter Dana Luft, of Bixby, son Roger Wise and wife Carol of Westminster, CO, granddaughters Janet Meyer of Tulsa, Tina Bolding and husband Matt of Broken Arrow, grandsons Jonathan and Travis Wise of Denver, CO, great grandchildren James Deffenbaugh and Jolynn Deffenbaugh of Broken Arrow, and great-great grandson, James David Deffenbaugh Jr. and great-great granddaughter Kayla Rose.Roline was the daughter of Raleigh and Freda Holifield and was raised in Drumright, OK. She married Roy Wise in 1945 and relocated to Tulsa where they raised four children. An active homemaker, member of Cage Coffee Club, and officer of the PTA for many years; then was on the sales staff of TG&Y, later retiring from Parish & Clark where she and her husband were employed. In retirement both Roy and Roline were members of Hunters RV Club and worked seasonally for the Parks and Recreation Department in Colorado well into their 70’s.Roline will be deeply missed and remembered for her warmth, compassion, positive outlook on life, profound love for her family and friends and her wonderful sense of humor.A memorial service celebrating Roline’s life will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 AM at Rose Chapel – Floral Haven, 6500 S. 129 E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK. Lunch immediately following. Viewing for Roline is Friday, December 9th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday after the service from noon to 2:00 PM.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Roline’s name to Rescued N Ready Animal Foundation, Box 700062, Tulsa, OK 74170.
