Doris Lee Sumter's Obituary
Doris Lee (Mann) Sumter age of 93, Born in Oaks, OK on Sunday, September 11, 1922 Doris was the sixth of ten children born to Avery Henderson and Nettie (Blankenship) Mann. Doris passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was reared and educated in her birth community where she attended Oaks High School. Doris worked for Safeway Super Market before becoming a full time homemaker. For many years she and her husband Monroe operated the Will Rogers Roundup Club in Claremore. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Broken Arrow. Doris was a loving wife, mother, proud grandmother and loyal friend, who will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Monroe and grandson John Brennan Tyler of Tulsa, daughters Sherry Vance of Claremore, Karen Rocco of Collinsville as well as sisters and brothers Elizabeth Hoopingarner and Edith Edens of Tulsa, Cloma Burgess of Houston, TX, Marge McCollum of Midland, TX, Eleanor Pendergraph of Moore, Jeannie Bolch of Oologah, Homer Mann, Art Mann both of Tulsa, and Edward Mann of Tahlequah. She is survived by sons Merle Tyler of Tulsa, Harlan Tyler of Newport, RI, son in law Donald Rocco of Collinsville and nine beloved grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Floral Haven Funeral Home; followed by Doris being placed to rest besides her loving husband Monroe at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
