Dorotha Marie Maple's Obituary
Dorotha “Dottie” Marie Maple, age 86 of Tulsa, OK passed away peacefully on Saturday December 17th, 2022. She was born in Mannford, OK and was a resident of the state most of her life. Dottie worked in some form of motel operations from a manager to a desk clerk for nearly 60 years. She spent nearly two decades of her late life working and living at an Inn in Springfield, MO before she officially retired back to Catoosa, OK. She lived a simple life finding enjoyment in everyday animal sightings of squirrels and birds, watching her shows while munching on a honeybun, and always making time for a whiskey nightcap before bed. She loved a good patty melt burger and would always suggest a buffet style restaurant for a family meal so “everyone could find something they wanted”. Having one granddaughter and four grandsons she gravitated towards spoiling the granddaughter which seemed to bring her much happiness to be able to do so. Her love for her family was a mostly quiet love but was a deep respectful love nonetheless. Every Grannie memory will be cherished.
In addition to her parents, Bert and Alva Rado Carson, Dottie is preceded in death by both her daughters, Kim Gordon and Tonya Rogers, her sisters, Joann Waggoner and Nettie Brewster, and her brother, Jesse Carson. She is survived by her sister, Jeweldean Stigal, her brother, Johnnie Carson, her five grandchildren, Brittany Gilley, Alex Gordon, C.J. Matthews, Austin Gordon, and Dustin Rogers, her three great grandchildren, Malachi Cash Gordon, Shae Matthews, and Shannon Matthews, and her loving nieces and nephews. Per her wishes, “no frills no fuss”, the family will be honoring her life privately. Donations in her memory may be made to the Oklahoma Historical Society to aid in the preservation of the rare Rose Rock. https://www.okhistory.org/research/donations
