Annie Annette Hassell's Obituary
Annette (Annie) Hassell was born February 4th 1976 in Claremore Oklahoma. She was raised and attended public school in Tulsa, however, if you asked her where she was from she would usually say Johnson Prairie or Tahlequah. This is where her Johnson family homestead was located and where she spent most of her summers and anytime she possibly could. These would be her most cherished childhood memories spent with her cousins, siblings, aunts and uncles, Dad and grandpa. She loved the river the woods and spending time around a campfire with family and friends.
She became a mother at a very young age and this is where she placed her greatest accomplishments and life goals. She had three boys, Dakota Shriver, Gage Shriver and Chase Butanda. She latter had the good fortune to add a step daughter, Anna Grace Wicker to her family. These children were her life and she loved them more fiercely than anyone could imagine earning her the title “Mamma Bear”.
She had an eye for photography, and gave freely of her time to take graduation pictures, family photos and she also loved to help plan weddings, baby showers and anything someone needed help with. She never charged for her help or the countless hours she spent doing this.
Her early career would be in property management where she started out leasing apartments. Annette had a gift for gab and could immediately connect with almost anyone, making her very successful. She worked her way up to property manager and became one of the top managers in Tulsa, where she eventually won the “City of Tulsa Zenith Award, Property manager of the year” not once but twice!
Later she would work in Commercial Property management and then in 2012, her and her family opened a large vintage mall in Claremore “The Willow Tree” .
This is where Annette found her love of vintage finds, repourposing things and painting old furniture. She and her family created a paint called “Plaster Paint” that you could use to paint basically anything. They began demonstrating this product at various trade shows across the nation and in just three short years they had over 56 retail locations and annual sales of 1.3 Million. Quite a feat for a couple of gals known and “Lucy & Ethel” or “Thelma & Louise” Annette and her mother Kathy Campbell had an amazing time traveling together and setting up new retailers outlets and met the most wonderful people who are still friends to this day.
Annette had a beautiful voice and she loved singing karaoke with some of her dearest friends creating the most wonderful memories.
In 2019, Annette got the nick name (Annie) and met the love of her life, Damon Hassell. She moved to his small homestead located in Locust Grove Oklahoma. Her happiness there was unmatched to anything she had ever experienced. She had the most perfect husband who allowed her to get pigs, chickens, goats and several dogs all of whom she loved like they were real people. She open her own little vintage store in Salina Oklahoma which she named The Rustic Cottage it was truly a dream come true for her.
She found such peace of mind on her little farm that it allowed her to create beautiful bead work, and she became the artist of many thing that she had always dreamed of.
She loved sharing their little farm with her grand little's, nephews, nieces and anyone who wanted to come spend time. It was truly a magical place full of love and adventure.
Annie will remembered by everyone who came in contact with her. She left a place of love and energy wherever she went and we have no doubt she is in heaven and at peace.
