Dorothy "Dot" Antonia "Flessa" Eggers' Obituary
Dorothy “Dot” Antonia (Flessa) Eggers, was born March 17, 1929 in Jefferson City, Missouri the second child of Phil and Frieda (Probst) Flessa and was baptized March 31, 1929. She attended Trinity Lutheran School for grades 1 through 8 and was confirmed in 1943. She graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1947. After graduation, Dot worked as an accountant in the Public School Retirement System of Missouri with her office being in the State Capitol Building. She married Kenneth Eggers on September 9, 1950 – her High School sweetheart, who she had known since the 1st grade. Dot and Ken became the proud parents of daughter Pamela in November of 1952; daughter Kandise in December of 1954; and, son Douglas in September of 1958. Pam resides in Bixby, Oklahoma, Kandi and husband Steve in Jenks, Oklahoma and Douglas and his family in Chino, California. The family was active in Church affairs and enjoyed camping and sightseeing much of the USA. Dot was especially active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She also taught Sunday school and Arts & Crafts in Pre-School. She also made banners for all the Church holidays and festivities. Dot and Ken moved from Orange County, California to Hemet, California in 1984 after their retirement. Dot remained active in LWML and added Braile work to her list of activities at Work Center 13 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Hemet, California. Dot and Ken moved to a retirement facility (Inverness Village in Tulsa), in 2011 to be near their two daughters. Dot’s brother Leroy Flessa preceded her in death in 1994. Her survivors are her husband Ken; children Pam, Kandi, and Doug and grandchildren Harley Bryant and Alicia (Eggers) Schumacher and a sister Betty Boltz of Overland Park, Kansas. A great grandson Wyatt Eugene Schumacher was born January 7, 2014. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00AM at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2550 E 71st Street; Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Floral Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens, 6500 S 129th E Avenue; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
