Dorothy Patricia Daniel's Obituary
Dorothy Patricia Daniel, 91, of Tahlequah, passed away December 12, 2013. Dorothy was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Ira E Sr. and Susan Wixon. Dorothy graduated from Central High School in Tulsa and went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She later worked for the Carter Oil Company. She married Woodrow “Woody” Daniel and they made their home in Tulsa until his death in 1996. Dorothy was a homemaker, and she raised four children and helped with the care of her grandchildren. She volunteered in the school cafeteria and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Dorothy loved to work word, jigsaw, and crypto quote puzzles, and played dominoes, board games, and cards with friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters Pat and Jan, her son Mike, her grandchildren Jimmy, Susy, Billy, Michelle, Daniel, and Dewayne, her great grandchildren, Kasey, Kymie, Terran, Damian, Dakota, Gage, David, Daisy, and Lily, her great great grandchildren Layla, Dylan, Blake, Jack, Callista, and Emberlie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Woody, her youngest son David, her first great great grandson Joshua, her parents, her brothers, Ira Jr. and John “Bud,” her sisters, Lorene, Louise, Judy, and Dorothy’s twin, Virginia, and many friends. Graveside funeral services were scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with the Reverend Jerry Moore officiating. Visitation was scheduled for Monday afternoon and evening on December 16, 2013.
