Dorothy Carol Demaree's Obituary
Dorothy's spirit went home to be with Jesus on Friday, January 2, 2026. She peacefully passed from her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on September 1, 1948 in San Diego, California to her parents Dail C. Jones and Dottie E. (Clouse) Jones.
Dorothy married her high school sweetheart, Daine C. Demaree, on August 5, 1967. They celebrated 58 years of marriage in August of 2025. She graduated from Mt. Miguel High School in Spring Valley, California. Post high school, she attended San Diego School of Business, Rhema Bible Training Center (Broken Arrow, OK), Point Loma Nazarene University (San Diego, CA), and Northeastern State University (Broken Arrow, OK).
Before children, Dorothy worked in retail at The Broadway (La Mesa, CA), as credit manager at both Koven's Jewelry (La Mesa, CA) and Arnold's Jewelry (Carlsbad, CA). Once her boys were of college age, she served as the Supervisor of Student Accounts at both Point Loma Nazarene University (San Diego, CA) and Northeastern State University (Broken Arrow, OK).
Her most prized roles were standing side by side with her husband in pastoral ministry, being momma to her three boys (Justin Clay Demaree, Jerrod Alan Demaree, Jesse Austin Demaree). The cherry on top of all her loving relationships was being "Grammy" to her nine grandchildren (Wyatt Ruiz-Demaree, Carson Demaree, Morgan Ruiz-Demaree, Warren Ruiz-Demaree, Brooklyn Demaree, Isabella Ruiz-Demaree, Olivia Ruiz-Demaree, Jett Demaree and Jace Demaree).
Dorothy's capacity to love was increased exponentially in March 1974 when she gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. She served Him faithfully and joyfully until she breathed her last breath here on earth. Her steps were ordered of the Lord, empowered by the fullness of God's Spirit, and anchored in God's Word. She believed Jesus' words in John 14:6, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."
